ATVs

In 2012, the Council of the Township of Montague passed a by-law to allow for the use of ATVs within the Township of Montague.

ATVs are permissible to be driven on Township roads only. This does NOT give the authority to drive/ride on the following roadways:

  • Provincial Highways
  • Any Highway Situated Outside of the Township of Montague
  • Any County Roads or Highways
  • Any Private Roads
  • Any Rail Lines

Please note the following restrictions that are specific to operating an ATV on Montague Township Roads:

  • ATVs must have visible reflective stripes on all four sides of the vehicle;
  • There shall be no chains or studs on the tires of the ATV; and
  • There is a curfew in effect, seven days a week from 10:00 pm to 5:00 am. During this time, no ATVs shall be allowed to travel on any roadways within the Township of Montague.
